About the event

Do you want to save lives? Because YOU can! Are you interested in mental health, community building & suicide prevention? Are you interested in becoming a Mental Health First Aider? If so, JOIN US and complete the FundaMENTALLY Healthy programme. No prior experience needed. Seven Sessions over seven weeks - Two hours each. Fully funded and with opportunities to progress to an advanced level. ALL WELCOME.

Dates and details of the 7 week course are as follows: 

Week 1: 22nd August: 1 - 3 PM

Overview of mental health.

What is mental health and mental well-being? Why is it important and how can we help ourselves and others?

Week 2: 29th August: 1 - 3 PM

Stress

What is stress and its causes? Discover the stress vulnerability bucket and how we can respond in a healthy way. Includes self-soothing and self-help tips.

Week 3: 5th September: 1 - 3 PM

Anxiety

Lets define and discuss anxiety. What are the different types of symptoms and how do we know when anxiety is becoming a  problem? How do we manage worry? Includes self-help tips for ourselves and others.

Week 4: 12th September: 1 - 3 PM

Confidence and Self-esteem

What affects confidence and self-esteem? Why is it important? Includes self-help tips for ourselves and others.

Week 5: 19th September: 1 - 3 PM

Positivity

What is positive thinking and it’s benefits? Discover how we can introduce positive thinking and optimism into our lives.

Week 6: 26th September: 1 - 3 PM

Goal Setting

Define and discuss your future aspirations and goals. Is there a difference between goals and dreams? Signs that you are feeling motivated.

Week 7: 3rd October: 1 - 3 PM

Fundamentals of ABCD

Exploring the topic of asset-based community development (ABCD). What are community assets? Organising and applying ABCD.
