Aisha was born and raised Liverpool and stayed close to home to attend Liverpool John Moores University, where she graduated with a First Class Psychology degree. She will shortly begin a MSc in Forensic and Investigative Psychology at the University of Liverpool.
Aisha has worked to gain a wealth of experience over recent years, all with a view to becoming best equipped to help others. She has worked as a volunteer counsellor for over 2 years at Childline, supporting young people in a range of different experiences. Aisha also worked with individuals with varying complex mental health issues and worked with varying demographics such as offenders, young people and victims of crime.
Growing up in a deprived area of Liverpool, Aisha witnessed the limited services for people struggling with their mental health. She is passionate about the value of services which aim to empower people by equipping them with the skills to make decisions that work for them. Aisha thinks that believing in and trying to emphasise peoples strengths is a key component of change.
The inspiring core values of the First Person Project align neatly with Aisha’s own beliefs and she is excited to able to work with the organisation to promote community cohesion and support.
